Good, Bad News For Weis

It’s been an interesting couple of days for Charlie Weis. The biggest news, at least personally, was the fact his malpractice suit was declared a mistrial after a juror collapsed and was helped by several doctors, including two who Weis was suing.

Weis claimed the two doctors botched his 2002 gastric bypass surgery. The juror collapsed while listening to testimony Tuesday. The trial was expected to go to the jury today. Weis’ attorney asked for the mistrial and the judge agreed.

The second bit of news was Weis got his first verbal commitment for 2008 from Mike Golic Jr., a lineman from Connecticut. Yes, that’s the same Mike Golic who is the son of former Notre Dame players Mike (his dad) and Bob (his uncle).

Golic is 6-5 and 260 pounds and can play offense or defense, although he’s projected to end up a center in college.
